FamilyNavigation: Decided reluctantly to archive this cache. I really liked this one but it was not found very often, it gets washed away each winter, and we will be moving away soon. Thanks for everyone who took the time to try this cache.

Geocache Description:

The cache is not at the posted coordinates but it is a good starting point for a wander around the town of Comox. Follow the instructions below; enjoy your walk, collect the required information and you should be rewarded with a find. Comox was lacking a walking tour type cache and we thought who better than a caching team who has lived here less than a year to place one. This should not take too long to complete unless you are like us and get sidetracked easily and end up spending the better part of the day just wandering around.

Stop 1: From the starting point walk down the hill towards the boats and turn right to join the children at play. After a swing and a slide search the other side of the field to find ‘Gentle Ben’. What year did Comox say goodbye to Ben.
Stop 2: After enjoying the views walk back up the hill to Town Hall to find the place with buried time. What year will its treasure be revealed?
Stop 3: Continue up the hill to the Legion hall and enjoy the view with George. The coffee drinker in our house encourages you to grab a cup to go at the coffee shop you pass on the way. When did the world say hello to George?
Stop 4: Stroll back down the main street in town past the starting point. Browse the shops on the way until you find the Makyla J, where she is going no one can say. Find the numbers near where the captain sits.

You could now stop for a snack or an ice cream across the way while you do a little math.
The coordinates for the cache are:
N 49 40.X W 124 Y
Where X = stop 2 – stop 1 + 107
and Y = stop 1 – stop 3 + stop 4 + 42160

The cache is hidden just outside a place where the gates will close at night but the cache is accessible at all times. This can be a busy place so stealth may be required. Cache is a camo lock & lock very close to the path you are walking on. Please make double check that the cache is hidden well prior to leavng.
