The G-Tower remains empty.
The L-Tower remains empty.
Augarten Park closes in the evening, so night-caching is not
possible... Normal park hours vary depending on the season, usually
the park is open at a minimum from 6:30 to 17:00
TRIVIA: Soviet sappers attempted to blow up the G tower in the
Augarten with the most powerful explosives available at the time,
but managed only to produce a crack around the top and to dislodge
part of the upper balcony. (...at the cache location, if you look
up you can see this failed attempt...now held in place by steel
cables)
Flak towers (German: Flaktürme) were large anti-aircraft gun
blockhouses used by the Luftwaffe to prevent overflights of key
areas in certain cities in World War II.

They also served as air-raid shelters for tens of thousands of
people and to coordinate air defence. With concrete walls up to 3.5
metres thick, these towers were considered to be invulnerable to
attack with the usual ordnance carried by Allied bombers of the
time period. Aircraft generally appeared to have avoided the flak
towers.
Each Flak tower complex consisted of a:
G-Tower (Gun Tower)
and a L-Tower (Fire Control Tower)
After the end of the war, the demolition of the towers was in most
cases unfeasible and many remain to this day. Six of the most
intact examples remaining in the world, are standing in Vienna,
huge remnants of the Second World War, that are often overlooked,
or unseen by the people living there...
The Vienna FLAK series of Caches let you rediscover these huge
stuctures within the living city...
Standing at the cache location, you are within the park walls, and
only the G tower is visible...
Please make sure to return the container exactly as found!!!
PLEASE use stealth abilities!, as muggle concentration is usually
high and the Cache has already been muggle-lifted once
The cache contains only a log, so please bring your own pen... and
reroll the log "correctly" so you don't cause the next finder
additional frustration...
