This cache is located at the junction of Torne Brook Road &
Torne Valley Road where you'll find a small stream, dam & pond.
The town recently built a new bridge here to replace the older
single lane bridge that had become dilapidated. For some reason
they left the old bridge intact & I don’t think they
intend to remove it.
The cache is near the two bridges. There is no need to venture
off into the woods. There's parking right on the shoulder of the
road on the either side of the bridge or you can park at the Joseph
T. St. Lawrence Center located at 115 Torne Valley Road and
walk.
Be careful when accessing the cache and put it back as you found
it. Be sure to seal it up tight and make sure it is closed all the
way. Be mindful of any passing trucks that might spot you. Rockland
County’s Solid Waste facility is up the road a short distance
and they can be the curious type.
The container itself is custom built & painted to blend in
with the surroundings. I designed this one to be a bit of a
challenge.
Due to its large size this cache is a great place for placing
Travel Bugs & Geocoins. I’ve provided a special envelope
for them in the cache. There are many swag items for trade
including LED flashlights, ear buds, key chains, whistles, toys and
more.
I’ve placed a $10 iTunes gift card in the cache attached
to the log book for the FTF. I also put in two of my own Geocoins
to get the ball rolling.
