Valova skala
Valova skala se nachazi na okraji Vsetina, cca. 3 km severovychodne od centra mesta, v udoli Velky Skalnik.
Valova skala vznikla behem posledniho milionu let zvetravanim a odnosem mene odolnych hornin.
Z jejich podlozi tak byly "vypreparovany" odolnejsi horniny , ktere vystoupily v krajine jako kompaktni skalni utvar - ten nese jmeno Valova skala. Jde o nejvyssi skalni utvar ve Vsetinskych vrsich.
Horolezci ji vyuzivaji jako cvicny teren, pri lezeni ale musi dodrzovat pravidla dohodnuta s organy ochrany prirody.
VALOVA SKALA (Vala Rock)
Na Valove skale najdeme nekolik vzacnych druhu rostlin, zejmena lisejniky. V jejim okoli se jihovychodnim smerem rozprostiraji prirodovedne cenne lesni porosty a kvetnate louky na nichz roste rada vzacnych druhu rostlin a hub.
Na skalnatem podkladu smerem k vrcholu Snoz se nachazi vzacny typ lesa – Zakrsla bucina s bizardnimi stromy a kobercovymi porosty belomechu siveho.
BELOMECH SIVY (Leucobryum glaucum)
V lesich jihovychodne od skaly roste bohata populace okrotice dlouholiste, ale i dalsi orchideje – hlistnik hnizdak, vstavac muzsky, vemenik dvoulisty, krustik modrofialovy.
U pesiny, asi 200m jizne pod vrcholem Snoze, stoji pamatny Kosutuv buk, jehoz vek se odhaduje na 200 let.
Valova skala je soucasti naucne stezky po okoli mesta Vsetina.

ENGLISH :
Vala Rock
Vala Rock is situated at the Vsetín city border which is about 3 km (2 miles) north-east from the city center. It is placed in a valley called Velky Skalnik.
Vala Rock grew up by the braking of rocks and less resistant rocks loss in last million years. More resistant rocks were excluded from subsoil by this process. These rocks appeared in countryside as compact rock formation called Vala Rock. Vala Rock is the highest rock formation in Vsetin hills. It serves as a training area for climbers. Climbers have to obey rules which are agreed with nature protection department.
There are several rare herb species at Vala Rock – mostly moss. Naturally valuable forests and flourish meadows can be found close to Vala Rock in the south-east direction. Many rare vegetable and mushroom species grow there. There is rare forest type on the rocky basis towards to mountain Snoz – ground beech wood with bizarre trees and carpet growth of Leucobryum glaucum. Plentiful Cephalanthera longifolia population grows in forests which are south-east from Vala Rock. Also other orchids can be found there – Neottia nidus-avis , Orchis mascula subsp. signifera , Platanthera bifolia , Epipactis purpurata. Memorable Kosutuv beech is about 200 m under Snoz mountain direction south on a hiking trail. The age of this tree is estimated to 200 years.
Vala Rock is a part of the educational Vsetin surrounding trail.
REQUIREMETS FOR LOG APPROVAL:
Make a photo of yourself by the top of the rock (if you would be alone you may take a picture of GPS with the top of the rock).
NOTE:
Use back trail to reach top of the rock. Back trail is well walk able. Look-out in winter season!!!
