Join us on August 10th for the first Mid Florida Geocachers meet and greet! Lots of fun for all ages.
Come on over to Plant City, FL. August 10, 2013 around 1:00pm for our first meet and greet for Mid Florida Geocachers. Everyone is welcome.
The coordinates listed are for the entrance to Mike Sansone Park in Plant city. The park is right off I-4 and Park road. I will post the coordinates for the pavilion closer to the event day.
To reach the pavilion drive straight back past the baseball field to the playground. We will be in the pavilion behind the playground.
We will be having a potluck style event so please bring a dish that can feed 4-5 people. There will be games and prizes, including a piñata filled with candy and geo-swag. (Kids get first chance at the candy!) We will also have an raffle. The park has some great caches waiting to be found and the college campus next door has some more. There is a playground on site for the kids. We will also be having a travel bug race. The TB theme is horses as in a horse race, but any travel bug will be accepted. I will have some horse trinkets to add to your TB tag if you need one. Please make sure you TB is activated when you bring it. It should also have 0 miles on it to start. There will be prizes for the TB that can go the farthest, most states, most countries, and weirdest places in 6 months or so. Prizes will be given out at the winter meet and greet.
