Table Mountain Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Cache Effect: I really don't want to archive this one........but the owner has not been active on the site since January 2015 and the cache is clearly missing again.
The community has kept this one active for many years but it's time to let it go. [:(]

Geocache Description:

Located on the top of Table Mountain at approximately 7100 ft (2164 m) above sea level. Table Mountain overlooks Beavermines Lake and Impeesa Scout Camp.

This hike is about 5 miles long, round trip, depending on which route you take up the mountain. If you go around the back, the slopes are a little more gentle, and the trail is more obvious. Just stay close to the creek- don't go up the trails that head straight up the mountain, unless you want to get a serious workout on a perilous trail (this is the way that we went on the way up, so we speak by experience). We did see a heard of mountain goats on this route, which was pretty neat. It seems that the wind blows constantly here, so bring a coat because you will be cold when you get to the top. Be careful approaching the edge, the wind will try to blow you over, and you will fall for at least 500 feet before you hit the rock below.

The cache should be very easy to find- right in the middle of the flat under a few rocks you will find a laundry detergent bucket with several items in it. This was kind of a spur-of-the-moment cache, so it is not the best stocked cache around, but at least it is up there, and hopefully will inspire a few more people to check out Table Mountain. So if you plan to visit this cache, bring some good stuff. Good luck.
