Geocache Description:

Let's consider this an experiment.

I proudly present.... Bentonville's First Wherigo!!!

This is going to be a nice and easy run to get you used to it.

Let's see... what do you need....

you will need to download the cartridge from Wherigo.

Download the Cartridge Here

  • You can play on smartphones or certain Wherigo-compatible GPS receivers

If you are using your smart phone, you will need to download the correct app, it is free and very easy to use.

The first time you go to Wherigo.com, you will need to make an account (very easy), then you can download the cartridge. You will want to click on "Download". If you are loading onto your phone, choose "Pocket PC Device". Then select "Open in Wherigo".

After you have done it once, it is super easy and you can download any cartridge in a matter of about 30 seconds.

So... load the Wherigo, run through the steps. When you get to the end, you will be at a locaiton for a standard Geocache hide. Once you sign the log, you can collect your Wherigo Smiley just like you normally do!! The cache location is in the Public Right-of-way.

Note*** If you have any problems with a smartphone, please read the below post by OzarksJim explaining how he got his phone to work. "I read some comments on our Ozark Mountain Geocachers Facebook page that some people had issues downloading the cartridge with their phones because a certain browser reformatted the catridge files incorrectly when they were downloaded, and that another 'Foxy' browser was a better browser to use. So I downloaded the other browser to my tablet that I happened to have with me. I also had to download an file manager app to move the Wherigo cartridge to the appropriate folder on my tablet (where the app would look for it). Sure enough, everything appeared to work and I was able to open the cartridge in WhereYouGo."
