Inspired by the following links; (http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/leisure_heritage/corp_history/coal_posts.htm) & (http://www.cityoflondon.gov.uk/leisure_heritage/corp_history/coal_tax_posts.PDF) this is our third cache and one of the London Coal Post Series, the first one we have done east of the Meridian, there are only another 198 or so Coal Posts to go!!!.
This is a fairly easy cache to reach, along well marked footpaths, somewhat hilly on the long walk. Parking is available nearby at King Harolds Head on Nazeing Common Road, up the hill, past the trig point (nice views of Docklands and City of London) through the stables, past the Xmas tree field and your there. Or if you are very lazy park in Bumbles Green Lane and follow the footpath for 0.25 miles.
First find Coal Post #14. This should be no problem, remember these posts are 150 years old, this one is about 1.5m high, square, made of iron and painted white.
When you find the post, your reward is near; 10m from Coal Post #14. Where you will find the following....
Standard 2.5l Tupperware box, containing;
Lego treasure hunter
Spare Batteries
Fan
Bubbles
Disposable camera (first 27 please take a pic)
Toy car
Highlighter
Tigger bookmark
Good luck,
SteveB67 and 'The Two Victorian Gentlemen'
