Special Considerations Extremely popular with boaters and fishermen. There are two boat ramps at the park.

Salsbury Point is a charming waterfront near Hood Canal Bridge. The floating bridge will open occasionally to allow submarines to pass or to relieve pressure from high winds on Hood Canal. In Either case, keep an eye out for the dark Trident submarines as they slip by, or brace for a rip-roaring storm.

The original occupants of this area were Chemakum, Skokomish, Suquamish, and Clallam tribes, who shared hunting, fishing, and gathering rights here. After European settlers moved into the area, a sawmill was built at what is now the town of Port Gamble. It was owned by the Puget Mill Co., which employed mostly local Native American workers.

Parking is free and usually plentiful, although if you need to park a boat trailer or an RV, space will be limited and often sparse if the weather is good.

Parts of the above text excerpted from a sign at the park.
Cache Information

The cache is a clear cylindrical container that only can accommodate relatively small items. The cavity in the container is 5" tall and 4.5" in diameter. The cache itself is obviously slightly larger.

If you encounter any Travel Bugs in this cache, be sure to read the "How To" Guide to Travel Bugs to help the critters on their journey.

Navigation Information

When you arrive at the park, you will note the park sign (above). Turning right in front of the sign will take you down to the boat ramp. If you don't have a boat, turn right immediately past the sign down a small street where there is plenty of car-sized parking. Follow your GPSr to the coordinates listed above.

CrimsonWrath's Signature Item

Chances are you will find one of my glow-in-the-dark signature items in this cache. The tokens were made by Token Factory and are (in my opinion) the coolest things I've ever seen! I totally recommend Token Factory to anyone looking for signature items of their own. If you happen to find one and take it with you, track the progress of the token on CrimsonWrath's Signature Item Tracking page.
