Geocache Description:

You are looking for a magnetic key box – bring your own pen. Use stealth technique, especially during business hours.

Each time we pass through old Cordova, we enjoy seeing the old Cordova railway station. Historian W.W. Wikipedia tells us that Cordova was one of the many small railroad stops along the Nashville, Chattanooga and St. Louis Railway route to Memphis, Tennessee. A train named The Memphian that ran from Nashville to Memphis stopped at the former Cordova Railroad station. The line went out of service around 2002. The station has been sold to an individual that is renovating it for use as a retail business. The 13 miles of CSX railroad from the Poplar and Union viaduct to a point near Houston Levee Road were purchased by the Shelby County government. The railroad tracks, crossing signs, and assorted railroad equipment have just been removed as plans are underway to turn this narrow stretch of open space into the Memphis/Shelby County Greenbelt.
