This is a perfect cache for a rainy winter day as most of it can be done on your computer in the comfort of your home. The coordinates above mark the location of the totem called Wallingford Animal Storm. There is no need to go there except to enjoy the totem. However, you'll need to use the coordinates to locate the cache.
Your task is to identify three addresses in the Wallingford neighborhood (bounded by I5, Lake Union, Stone Way, and 50th St.) and use them to determine the coordinates of the cache. Do this by assembling a set of key words by answering questions about cinema trivia. Don’t fret if you’re lacking cinema trivia skills, the answers to all the questions can be found with skillful online searching.
For each address there are three key words that seem to have nothing to do with anything in Wallingford. However, entering all three in order into a standard Goggle search will yield a results page with a link to the Wallingford place. Then you have to come up with the LAST THREE DIGITS of its street address.
Wallingford Place 1 with address ABC has key words:
1. False Profits who say: “Your goods are now my goods.”
2. The word Ragetti said immediately after “Well, how'd you know it weren't Divine Providence what …”
3. Add “ers” to what Boromir said none of us should do alone, especially Frodo.
(Note: This place is now closed.)
Wallingford Place 2 with address DEF has key words:
1. First name of actress who played Stormy Billings
2. Middle word in title of 2010 detective movie directed by Eric H.
3. Nick La _ _ _ _ who was in Big Bad Mama II.
Wallingford Place 3 with address GHI has key words:
1. What happened to the spider's egg in the end, according to Deckard. Make this past-tense verb into an eight-letter present-tense word ending in "ing".
2. Second of four words that Princess Leia said preceding “never gonna to make it past that blockade.”
3. The third word in the title of the Friday night movie the PA announcer described as “Rock'em sock'em kisses you never got.”
(Note: The address you need is the old one, before the 2009 move. Add 101 to new to get old.)
To have some assurance that you have done things correctly, sum the three 3-digit addresses. Then sum the all the digits in the result. Repeat until you get a single digit. This digit should be 9.
The cache is in the Wallingford neighborhood at a point offset from the starting coordinates by:
(CFG + HBD) / IHG minutes of latitude
(HFE + CGD) / FBE minutes of longitude.
You’ll have to figure out the direction of the offset.
Disclaimer: This is not an evil cache and it’s by no means as hard as it looks at first glance, but it will take some skillful online searching. Also, web pages and searching algorithms do change, so let me know if there is problem and I will attempt to fix things.
