We are hiding this geocache as a project for our eighth grade science class to teach our fellow geocachers about environmental impacts that we as humans have on the environment. Our ecological topic is on carbon footprint. A carbon footprint is the amount of carbon dioxide or other carbon compounds emitted by a person or a group .You don't want a big carbon footprint. Pollution takes a big part in global warming. You can go on google and search carbon footprint calculator to see how big your carbon footprint is. Someone who traveling by plan or car will have a bigger carbon footprint then someone who rides a bike or walks to places where they have to go. You can do a lot just around the house to lower your carbon footprint. When using an outlet take out the cord when you are not using it because when the cord is in its still is using energy. You can also take shorter shower, open windows instead of using air conditioning, recycle, and turn the lights of when you are not in the room. All the little things add up and make a difference.
