Geocache Description:

Located in the eastern Alvord Mountains. Difficulty rating comes from 4-5 mile drive up sandy wash. Do not travel any further north or you will end up on Fort Irwin. I mapped this area for my Senior Field Mapping course @ CSU Fullerton. We would sit on this ridge and watch the mock tank batles to the north. The Old Spanish Trail was trade route from Santa Fe, NM to Los Angeles, CA active from about 1820 to 1850.
