What's This? Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Miragee: Well, since the container was unique, I'm afraid I'll have to archive this cache. It had a good long run. Thanks to everyone who enjoyed finding this cache.

Geocache Description:

This cache is located at the end of a nice walk through a meadow and oak forest. The cache itself is a mid-sized container full of great swag.

You need to take a phillips head screwdriver with you - - the pointier-point kind will work better

On my way to a cache a few months ago, I found this container on the highway. It had obviously fallen out of a vehicle and it suffered a few scrapes -- even the screws are a bit damaged. From that day, I have been trying to find a place to put it. I finally gave up on the idea of hiding it in plain sight in an urban location, so here it is. I hope it is hidden from any potential muggles, but it isn't hidden from you.

When you get to the location, you will see it. It is not camouflaged in any way. Please be careful when you remove the screws so you don't lose one. The container should be waterproof, if all the screws are tightened properly.

There is lots of good swag in the container including:

  • Hawaii Tie
  • Puzzle
  • Waterproof Matchbox
  • Skamania Lodge Refrigerator Magnet
  • San Francisco Keychain
  • 20' phone line
  • 6" ruler
  • Small carabineer
  • Tiny knight
  • Plush toy dog
  • Log book and pen

If you haven't done the other nearby caches yet, "Meadow View," "Out in the Meadow," and "Meadow Walk," don't miss this opportunity to see more of this pretty area.

When I was there, the wildflowers like this one were very beautiful.

All the winter rains are really showing their benefit this spring. However, this means the Poison Oak is also thriving. There is some near the cache, but you shouldn't encounter it if you are careful.

05/24/05 -- I changed the difficulty rating for the cache because of the need for a screwdriver. If you have one with you, the cache is a '1' for difficulty; if you don't . . . well . . . you are going to say "What's This?"
