Pardon me boy, is this the Chocolog
Choo-choo?
This cache was originally placed by Mustcache.
**Fall and Winter Note**
Even though the trail to the area of the cache is easy
the final bushwack to the cache can be slippery if there is rain or
snow. It is recommended to wear boots or shoes with good grippy
soles in inclement weather.
It is located along the old New York & New England . Built
during the mid-nineteenth century, it was used during the height of
the industrial revolution. For more information, see
Woonsocket
Railroads.
While this trek is mostly traveled on the old railroad bed, you
will have to bushwack the last 100 feet or so to find the cache. I
hope you appreciate the subtle things along the trail, such as the
old retaining wall and the old telegraph pole sitting there within
your grasp. You will have plenty of opportunity to CITO here. Maybe
you'll even find an old insulator from the several telegraph poles
that once lined this trail. I saw a piece of one while I was here.
It was a green glass one that had a bubble in it. I also found a
railroad spike while there.
This trail is frequented by
motorized vehicles (although it's prohibited). ALSO RECREATIONAL
SHOOTING MAY OCCUR IN THE AREA. Please use appropriate
caution.
