Geocache Description:

An easy walk along the Stratford upon Avon canal. This is One of a series of 3 caches based on the aqueducts on this part of the canal

The above co-ords are the suggested parking in Pettiford Lane. This is an easy cache to find on a walk along the Stratford upon Avon canal taking abut 40 minutes. The towpath can be muddy at times. The Stratford upon Avon canal has many interesting features including split bridges and barrel-roofed cottages. Another feature of this canal is its three aqueducts, one of which was this one, built over the main Stratford to Birmingham Road at Wootton Wawen. It was one of the earliest cast iron aqueducts, and is a Scheudled Ancient Monument. It has had many structural alterations over the years due to damage caused by vehicles hitting it. Like the other two aqueducts, the towpath is at a low level and the canal boats pass walkers at eye level. The other aqueducts are at Bearley/Edstone (our cache Aqueduct One) and Yarningale (our cache Aqueduct Three). There are tea rooms and craft shops at the craft centre on the corner of Pettiford Lane and Stratford Road and the Navigation Pub is also nearby. The cache is in a small tupperware-like box.
From the recommended parking place head up the green lane to the canal and turn right. At the aqueduct N52 15.892 W001 46.138 you need to find:

The number of miles to Birmingham divide by two and add four = A
The mileage to Stratford added to the mileage to Yarningale minus ten = B

The aqueduct was erected in CDEF

The cache is located at N52 A.B(C+D)5 W001 4(C+E+F).D27.
