Most people don't even know this little brook and conservation area exists but here it is "The Whitten Brook Conservation Area"
This should prove to be a very easy find for most, you can drive to within feet of this cache so I gave it a 1 and a 1 for terrain and difficulty. I'm not certain but I believe at one time the little impoundment of water here was used as the area's public water supply as evidenced by the remnants of the old pumphouse just under the waters surface along it banks. Local kids and some adults fish here and I have personally caught some nice pan sized brook trout from this little body of water. Be Careful of Muggles as this area is used by all the neighborhood dog walkers (watch out for doggydoo) and kids do frequent this area. Seems the town of Skowhegan didn't leave anything for this area's upkeep in their budget. It is the way it is but I thought more people might be interested in knowing it even existed. This is a small cache completely wrapped in duct tape so if trading, use items that will fit. Please replace the cache in its original location, thanks!! Have Fun & Be Safe!
