Onze eerste geplaatste cache ! Zoek niet op de opgegeven coördinaten hierboven, daar kan desgewenst de auto geparkeerd worden maar is verder niks te vinden.

Vroeger werden er in Lommel-Kerkhoven grote katholieke processies gelopen, een traditie waar in de vroege jaren '70 een einde aan kwam. Momenteel vinden er in de maand mei nog wel een drietal kleinere processies plaats met slechts een handvol deelnemers. Hieronder een foto een van de processie einde jaren ’50, waarschijnlijk ter gelegenheid van 100 jaar Kerkhoven (met oprechte dank aan Erfgoed Lommel voor het beschikbaar stellen)

Door middel van caches zullen we trachten de route die toen gevolgd werd te reconstrueren, dus de komende tijd zullen er geleidelijk aan nog meer caches over dit thema in deze buurt bij komen.

Het leek ons dan ook wel leuk om in de sfeer te geraken en jullie een gebedje te laten opzeggen voordat er toegang tot de cache gegeven wordt...

In onze oneindige goedheid vinden jullie hieronder alvast het gebed dat moet gebeden worden om de schat te kunnen vinden. Probleem is alleen dat we moeten toegeven dat we zondaars zijn en dat we blijkbaar een paar woorden van het gebed vergeten zijn...

Jullie moeten dus op zoek naar de ontbrekende woorden, die vervolgens omzetten naar cijfers via het principe A=1, B=2, C=3,... Daarna de cijfers per woord optellen en omzetten naar 1 cijfer (vb ZO = 26+15 = 41; 4+1 = 5). En die brengen je dan wel naar de juiste coördinaten waar de cache verborgen ligt...

The first cache we've hidden ! Don`t start searching at the above mentioned coordinates; you can park your car there if you like but nothing can be found there.

In the past, big catholic processions were held every year in Lommel-Kerkhoven, a tradition that came to its end in the early 1970's. Now, still three processions are held every year in the month of May, but only with a handful participants. The picture below dates back to the late 1950’s, probably taken during the celebration of 100 year Kerkhoven (sincere thanks to Erfgoed Lommel for rendering this picture available).

Through caches we will try to reconstruct the route that was taken during these processions, so more caches about this theme will come up in the near future.

As we have placed this one near a chapel, it looked like a good idea to have you say a little prayer in order to get access to the cache..

In all our goodness, you`ll find below the prayer that will have to be said in order to find the cache. There`s one problem though : we admit being sinners and seem to have forgotten a couple of words of the prayer...

So you will have to start looking for these missing words, change them into numbers (A=1, B=2, C=3....), add up the numbers for each word and turn that into one number (eg SO = 19+15 = 34; 3+4 = 7). Those numbers will lead you to the right coordinates where the cache is hidden..
