Its another cache along 3N17 White Mountain trail. This is a
very remote trail with little tree cover due to the fire that
burned in the area back in 2001. However the trail is great for
experienced drivers looking for a challenging route. We typically
run the trail west to east from 3N14 over to 3N16. The steep
inclines add to the difficulty. Running the trail from east to west
would be considerably easier.
When our Toyota group runs this trail, we usually insist that
all vehicles have body protection and some sort of traction device
in the rear axle (locker or limited slip). On this run we had a
bone stock Toyota 4runner with us that had 29" street tires. He
only got stuck in one spot where the hill was loose sand. He made
it through everything else. I was certainly impressed! Next up is
my Honda Civic.
