Join cachers around the world for Aucklands very own 15 minutes of fame!

DATE: Saturday, 8 November 2008
TIME: 10:00 am to 10:15 am (only 15 minutes!)
WHERE:Campfire, Downtown, Auckland

-A Flash Mob Event is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse. You can handle that can‘t you?

-This flash mob event is part of a much larger effort by geocachers around the world. At the same time, over 90 World Wide Flash Mob (WWFM) events will occur. Including one in Christchurch.

-Come and be a FLASHER!

During the “WWFM IV Gather Around the Camp Fire” Be Prepared To:

-Sign the log sheet.
-Put the sheet in the bucket for the Raffle.
-Participate in "WWFM IV - Gather Around the Camp Fire"
-Take Group Photo
-Bring a long stick for Marshmellows

Here is the itinerary for WWFM IV - Gather Around the Camp Fire

09:55
- Everybody wait patiently and/or stroll around the area. STAY AWAY from ground zero until the signal is given. As much as you can, act like a muggle, pretend not to know each other or give any indication that something is about to happen.

10:00
-Hosts will arrive at GZ and Signal the beginning of the Flash Event
-Everybody gather round Ground Zero and get your Marshmallows ready. Circle the artwork, once the circle is formed start cooking the banquet.
-The event “banquet” will be served!

10:01 – 10:08
-Sign the log sheet with your name (Please bring a pen)
-Put the log sheet in the bucket for the raffle
-Begin "WWFM IV"

10:08 - 10:12
-Exchange swag, coins, TBs, tall tales, DNF stories, puzzle solutions.
-Raffle Drawing and Prizes for "WWFM IV" awarded

10:12
-Assemble for a group photo, and assemble FAST. Listen to the photographer for directions.
-Taking of the official photo of the WWFM IV Auckland Event

10:14 -One minute WARNING!

10:15 EXACTLY
-All participants must leave the area and remove any Marshmallows or sticks. EVERYBODY! It is very important that all leave the premises at exactly 10:15 at the signal and disperse in different directions.
Afterwards
-Meet at Esquires Coffee House (S 36° 50.588 E 174° 45.943) for a coffee, food and a chat and plan the rest of the day...

If everything goes right we will have lots of people coming out of nowhere and gathering for 15 minutes, holding a geocaching event and then disappearing. This will be lots of fun and maybe even raise a few muggle eyebrows!

Please bring along cameras, videos and phones and take some footage or record some audio, check out the great Rumo and Rala's video from last years event. By the way R & R, you guys were robbed at Academy Awards last year, you didn't even get a mention.
