The Rock House Traditional Cache
The Ocotillo 8: Seems this Cache is now in a building being used by Miners, or some one and the Roads in are also blocked. I'm 200 hundred miles away and took this cache or from my daughter when she moved to Oregon fron San Diego CA. Sorry cachers seem to like the old rock building and the great view.

NOTE: CACHE NEEDS A NEW LID. It's a large metal coffee can 2 1/2 lbs, if your going to it PLEASE take a lid, large butter tub lids (Country Crock) work too. We can't get there till. Jan 2010.........
This is one of my Family’s favorite places to go exploring when we’re over at Quartzsite, AZ for the winter shows. To get there, you go up Dome Rock Road East out of town, and turn on Mitchell Mine Road at the end of the pavement, then just follow your GPS...
When you get to the Cache area, you’ll find an old Rock House. We found it interesting because whoever built it years ago, took the time to make the main wall with 7 kinds of rocks, all different, and colorful. We saw this same mix of colorful rocks in a wall, at another spot in Quartzsite . As for the area where the Cache is, there was a lot of mining there in the old days. Be careful, you’re on BLM land, but there are open mine shafts, and open pits in the area, plus a few of the mines are still active, so don't trespass..
The container is a 2 lbs plastic coffee can. The cache contains misc. items just for fun. No theme needed. Inside you will find items such as some toy dolls, a bracelet, Christmas decoration, a couple toy trucks, tie clip, and crocheted pouch. But most important is our first travel bug. Please make sure if you take it, take it seriously..
