The cache is a small decon box hidden in Nyack's Memorial Town Park. **8/28/08 the cache was replaced with a small lock-n-lock container, but the cache is still in the same location**
There are many parks in Rockland County that have Scenic Hudson River Views, so I have decided to place a series of caches to share these scenic places with other geocachers.
Memorial Park on the shores of the Hudson is within walking distance to the downtown. There is a children's playground, tennis courts and a beautiful new butterfly garden. There is accessibility for launching small watercraft such as canoes and kayaks from the shore of the park. Memorial Park hosts many special events including weekly music concerts in the summer, numerous festivals and even outdoor movies. The park is closed and gated at night, so please do not look for this cache at night.
This is a wonderful park to visit for lunch. The kids can enjoy the butterfly garden, ball field, or playground, and the entire family can enjoy the beautiful views of the Hudson River. Also check out the waterfall and stream originating from the tunnel near the cache site.
Please be sure to rehide the cache so that it cannot be seen. Enjoy!
