You will drive 10 - 12 miles. The terrain is a marching band
practice field and then a marshy area by a long drainage ditch. You
will gain information in two stops, and finally find a regular
cache that is a box (won't hold large items). Do this one first,
and you will end up close to the Teddy Bear Haven cache. (GCNNKF).
10/06, I'm adding the final location to this listing for those who
would like to skip to the final stage: N40 44.699 W82 47.769.
Step one: when you find the BIG PICTURE at the given coordinates,
you just add the heighth to the cost (in thousands) to get the
numbers for the parking coordinates. Brand new informational sign
just installed. Step two: is on the way, so stop and wave at Andy,
Opie and Barney, no credit here: N40 47.879 W82 57.849. You're on
rt.19Step three: monument at N40 46 230 W82 53.795. You need the
year of the battle minus 12 (and skip the one thousand) for the
western coordinates of the cache location.Step four: parking at N40
44.___ W82 47.730. Then, suggest you do not bushwack but follow the
drainage ditch (which is often stagnant and makes puppies smell) to
the cache. Use N40 44.682 W82 47.___. Only go through the marsh if
it is very frozen. Don't want to scare you, but to be safe, take
a dog or a friend. This is deserted marsh and is wild but a rare
event has happened there.
