Geocache Description:

A family-friendly multicache that got its clue from a popular children's program.

This is one where having a child along might be helpful. If you aren't familiar with "handy-dandy notebooks" or "the thinking chair", you can get a clue here. If you don't have a child, you may wish to contact Rentakid. Other than a youthful sense of adventure, you should also print and take this do-it-yourself handy-dandy notebook. You'll use it to record the three clues along the way. You'll need to take this cache sheet and a compass, too. This is located in a park that is a great place to take children. If you do have kids, allow some time for playing and seeing the local attractions. A sunny day would be a good choice.

Waypoint One Here you are looking for your first clue. As most any kid can tell you, it's a blue pawprint. When you spot it, be sure to holler, "A clue! A clue!" The first clue you need to record in your H-D N is the answer to this question: The pawprint is on the back of a...what? Once you make a note of this, you will find the coordinates to Waypoint Two approximately five feet SW of the clue, under a railing.

Waypoint Two Update 2008: A lot has changed at this waypoint this year. The LOG cabin has been moved up the hill. I replaced the clue on 12/1/08 but the pawprint will need to be redone. So for now, just know you are looking for a bridge. Now walk 8 big steps from the end of it on a bearing of 57° true. Spot a traditional geocaching hiding spot and look on the backside of that. You are looking for a film canister with the second clue and third coordinates clearly visible from the outside. No need to open the canister. Record clue number two (___ ___ ___) in your Handy-Dandy Notebook and proceed to Waypoint Three.

Waypoint Three Here you are looking for a dark film canister that is camouflaged. You'll know it's the right one because it will have a blue pawprint on it! Inside the film canister you will find the coordinates for the final geocache. You'll also find a little charm. The charm looks like a _______. That's clue number three. Have a seat on the nearby Thinking Chair. Look at the three clues. What does Seth! want you to do when you find the final geocache?

If you are having trouble finding the Waypoint Three film canister, start at the Thinking Chair by the trail and head 26 paces on a bearing of 190° true. That should get you pretty close.

Final Geocache The final geocache was a Rubbermaid container but is now a brown .30 cal ammo can with a pawprint on the side. It contains a variety of stuff to trade, including some theme items. There are also a limited number of souvenir "Handy Dandy Notebooks" that you may take. One per hunting party please!

As always, please remember that putting food or edible stuff in a geocache is a no-no. Feel free to e-mail me with your solution to the puzzle or anything else but please keep spoiler information out of your log entries below. Have fun!
