To celebrate Phil and Cathy's 1,000th cache they decided they wanted to find the oldest cache in Washington. The nearby Mountain Marsh. Of course, they didn't want to just go out and find the cache they wanted to have a party to go along with it. So 20+ cachers from around the NW met up to go find Mountain Marsh.
Unfortunately, Mt. St. Helens decided to reactivate so the road to the cache was closed. And the many logging roads that our maps said went there did not seem to actually go there. We know we tried many, many of them.
We couldn't let P&C go home empty handed so we went with Plan B and on the way back from one of the many logging roads we tried we jumped out and placed this cache for them to find.
As an added bonus Blindleader was able to get his 1,500th cache here.
...............
For those of you who don't care a whit about the above information here's what you need to know. This cache is only a short ways from an unlocked gate. We drove to it today but even if the gate is locked it's a very short walk to the ammo box.
Happy hunting. And congratulations Phil & Cathy on #1,000 and Blindleader on 1,500.
