in our disclaimer.
The sign-only micro cache is not at the
posted coordinates, but it is within two
miles.
Bring your own writing instrument and then take it with you. (The
inmates are not allowed sharp objects.) If you recognize the theme
and are afflicted yourself, this may actually be just a 2.5/1.
*Despite appearances, cache site IS open to the public.*
Dr. Lepo, who had been assigned to evaluate two individuals
recently admitted to the local insane asylum, was not making the
progress he had hoped for. So he called upon his colleague, Dr.
Glith, for some assistance.
Dr. Lepo began by saying, "I'm in the dark on this one and I was
hoping you could enlighten me."
Dr. Glith replied, "I'll try. What have you observed so far?"
Dr. Lepo shared what little he knew: "An FBI Agent brought them in
last night, insisting that they held the key to solving a case he
was working on. They had been arrested for poking around the
LunaMacro Laboratories grounds during non-business hours. They have
no ID and won't answer any of my questions. For awhile, they just
kept repeating the same babble over and over and over. One insisted
on pointing north when speaking, the other insisted on pointing
west when speaking. So I refer to them as Mr. North and Mr. West
for now. They seemed to understand each other, but I'm in the dark
on what their dialogue means. I made an audio tape of their
rantings for analysis purposes. They seemed to be aware that I was
taping them. Once I started taping, they repeated their babble just
one more time. Now they just sit there staring at me, almost as if
they expect me to go do something."
Dr. Glith stroked his goatee thoughtfully and said, "Let's hear
your tape."
The recording of the frantic conversation went like this:
(Mr. West) "The beginning... and shadows... and eve... and the
end!"
(Mr. North) "Deep throat and terms of endearment!"
(Mr. West) "Emily and Roland!"
(Mr. North) "Seven thirty one and three but remove the sixth
extinction!"
(Mr. West) "Medusa and grotesque and scary monsters and blood and
Daemonicus!"
(Mr. North) "Synchrony and mind's eye and providence and the
truth... and the field where I died and... this is not
happening!"

The recording ended. As Dr. Glith finished scribbling into his
notepad, he casually asked: "Did the FBI agent happen to mention
another audio tape?"
(The truth is out there)
"Why yes, in fact he did..." replied Dr. Lepo, who was quite
puzzled that Dr. Glith would know about that.

Update 4/13/04: The old location got damaged.
The new location still sticks to the theme, but it requires just a
bit more work at the cache site, or use GeoCalc to project your
final waypoint if you wish.
Update 6/24/04: Updated the puzzle for just a bit more clarity for
finding the actual cache coordinates, and added a location hint.
It's probably not obvious, but I added more clues to the cache page
too. You still need to know how to see the clues (as the puzzle
theme demands.)
Note 6/13/05: added puzzle hint.
