shinminato signal box is a signal box of JR Keiyo Line between Inagekaigan Station and the Chibaminato station.
There was Chiba freight terminal station in these outskirts from May 10, 1975 to March 31, 2000.
Afterwards,This station was abolished by oil crisis and reshuffling to the trucking advanced to rapidly.
However, how coexist became a problem to start occasion of freight train service.
Because freight trainis slow,passenger train is fast speed.
It solution was to install pursuit race facilities in the Chiba freight terminal station.
That pursuit race facilities are "shinminato signal boxes".
For structure, one down sidetrack is established between up and down Main Line for each 1s.
The long effective head functions for freight train shunting of the long formation,functions as a signal box for freight train shunting.

新港信号場は稲毛海岸駅と千葉みなと駅の間にあるＪＲ京葉線の信号場です。
この周辺には1975年5月10日から2000年3月31日まで千葉貨物ターミナル駅がありました。
しかし、トラック輸送への切替が急速に進んだことやオイルショック等などにより同駅は廃止されたものの、貨物列車運行に際しては速度が遅い貨物列車と速い旅客列車をどう共存させるかが問題となり、解決策として出されたのが休止中の千葉貨物ターミナル駅への追い越し設備の設置でした。この追い抜き設備が「新港信号場」です。
構造としては、上下本線各1本の間に下り待避線が1本設けられています。長編成の貨物列車待避のために有効長も長く、基本的に貨物列車待避用の信号場として機能しています。
現在下り待避線となっている場所が高架構造となっているのは、京葉線が元々貨物線として設計されており、この地にあった千葉貨物ターミナル駅に到着する下り貨物列車が上り線を支障しないようにするため、入場分岐線と交差する部分の上り線を高架としたためです。
キャッシュポイントから南東に７００ｍほど行った所の駐車場には、使われなくなった鉄道用信号が今でも残っています。
