NCT - 7 Traditional Geocache

This cache has been archived.

Rebel Cruzer: Cache is gone. I collected it today. It was a good run with the NCT series, but I can't keep up the maintenance. Time for something new... TFTC logs!

Geocache Description:

In the spirit of the SRT series and the PPT series, I give you the
NCT series! My aim is to place a series of caches, linking the
Newtown Community Trail. This endeavor began when I decided to
place a bison in the trees behind my work. I realized this trail
was there, and it just seemed to make sense to place a whole series
of caches along the trail route. I started with that first cache,
and now give you six additional caches. There are existing caches
in place along some portions of this trail which runs through the
borough. Eventually, I plan to have caches along the entirety of
the trail, so stay tuned!

The Newtown Community Trail is a linear park, 3.7 miles in length,
which connects Tyler State Park with Newtown Township’s
Silver Lake Park. Leaving Tyler State Park, heading east, this
trail travels along Green Lane to Council Rock North High School.
From C.R. North, the trail travels east along Swamp Road to
Sycamore Street. At this intersection, walkers, joggers, and
bicyclists can continue east through Newtown Borough along
Washington Avenue to Newtown-Yardley Road, or head south along
Sycamore Street to Carl Sedia/Chandler Fields. After walking
through the Borough, walkers continue east along Newtown-Yardley
Road to Terry Drive/Lower Dolington Road. Here, walkers have the
option to either head north along Lower Dolington Road to Roberts
Ridge Park and Goodnoe Elementary School, or continue east along
Newtown-Yardley Road to Upper Silver Lake Road. Turning left on
Upper Silver Lake Road, walkers continue to the sharp bend in the
road and follow the trail to the pedestrian bridge which crosses
over Core Creek. Following the east bank of Core Creek, the Newtown
Trail travels under the bypass and terminates in Newtown
Township’s Silver Lake Park.

This is a continuation of the NCT Series. I am now starting to
place caches at this end of the trail and working my way back
toward Newtown Boro. I would strongly discourage anyone from
attempting to access this cache from the bypass. Use the listed
parking coordinates for this one, and venture over the footbridge
into the woods.
