ROZENPRIEEL
Het Rozenprieel, ofwel “De Roos”, is een volksbuurt, ontstaan in het begin van de 20e eeuw.
Tot het begin van de 17e eeuw bestond het Rozenprieel uit open weiland. Vanaf die tijd werd het gebied door een vereniging van tuinders gehuurd of gepacht en stond het gebied vol met tuinderijen. Het gebied werd aan het eind van de 19e eeuw verkocht als bouwterrein. Dit was het einde voor de tuinders. Het gebied werd vanaf 1876 in samenwerking met coöperatieve (christelijke) bouwverenigingen bebouwd. De straatnamen zijn de enige herinnering aan het verleden; zoals de Klaverstraat, de Tulpenstraat en de Rozenprieelstraat.

ROZENPRIEEL
The Rozenprieel, or "The Rose", a working class neighborhood, was founded in the early 20th century.
Until the early 17th century the Rozenprieel was of open pasture. From that time the area was by an association of gardeners rented or leased and the area was full of market gardens. The area was at the end of the 19th century sold as building land. This was the end for gardeners. The area began in 1876 in collaboration with cooperative (Christian) building societies built. The streets are the only memory of the past.
Look out for dog-walking muggles!
