Well, do ya Punk?
An often misquoted line
delivered by my favourite movie character Harry Callahan in Dirty
Harry. The full quote is:
I
know what you're thinking. "Did he fire six shots or only five?"
Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost
track myself. But being as this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful
handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've
got to ask yourself one question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya,
punk?
The cache has nothing to do
with the movie, but is all about feeling lucky. During Mad May,
Zytheran placed many scratchies into caches as FTF prizes, and many
other cachers often place scratchies as a FTF prize too. However,
nobody has ever scored big on them, which leads me to the
conclusion that Geocachers are an unlucky group (otherwise we’d
never have to post a DNF).
The posted coordinates will
take you to an electrical box on a pole in the middle of the Port
Canal Park. The cache isn’t located here, but is only a few metres
away. There are four obvious spots where a magnetic keyholder can
be hidden, and it is in one of them. If you are lucky you’ll find
it in the first one you pick. If you are really unlucky you’ll take
more that four as you’ll miss it on the first pass and move onto
another spot.
This
cache also serves as a survey. Please indicate how many spots you
had to check before you came up with the cache. If in a group, plan
your order first, so you can indicate how many spots you would’ve
checked before finding the cache.
The cache contains a log and pencil, and a
gold coin. The gold coin is for the first finder who finds it in
the first spot they checked. Please take the coin and buy a
scratchie as you are obviously a lucky person. I would’ve normally
placed the scratchie in the cache, but didn’t want to jinx it, by
purchasing it.
Feel free to move the cache
to one of the other alternate spots, but please indicate which spot
you’ve moved it to by using the guide in the front of the log book.
I started it off in spot #3.
Enjoy
The
Calumphing_Four.
P.S If you look at the
satellite picture of the park, you’ll notice that it is in the
shape of a boat, or if you are paranoid it’ll resemble crop
circles.
