Geocache Description:

This one went to market, well Newmarket actually.

From Newmarket follow the footpath along the bottom of the valley, when you come to the mill pond (dry) look out for a branch to the right in about 100 yards going up hill, the cache is just inside the wood next to the path.

Newmarket was the site of the Hilliers factory where pork pies and sausages were made for many years up until the 1990s when the then owners transferred meat processing to Plymouth. For a time the site was used for making desserts but this was short lived and the factories have now been demolished and houses occupy the sites.

This is one of a series of five “This one …” caches using the “This little piggy” rhyme as its theme. They can be done individually or as a round trip, when the other Nailsworth caches can also be included. They are not difficult and are intended to let cachers see parts of Nailsworth that they might otherwise miss
