Classes or meetings of the Evangelical Church as begun by Jacob Albright, began in Freysville in the early 1800s. From these early meetings evolved many different worship centers including our own Zion UMC. Zion was originally an Evangelical Association church as indicated by the cornerstone which was laid in 1896.
