Geocache Description:

The cache is a well camouflaged watertight container large enough to hold a log, pencil, coins and other small items. Kindly remember to screw the lid on tight and replace the cache exactly as found (lid side facing downward).

Kaneku Seaside Park is hard to see from highway 58 as it sits behind the Naval Kadena shopping center. This park has almost everything to include a small amphitheater, a mini water park, fitness trails, tennis courts, ball fields, handball courts, a mini skating rink, and even a man-made stream that runs under bridges and into a small pond. The paving is excellent for strollers, bikes, scooters and skateboards. For the young ones there is also a playground where the main attractions are a giant cable pyramid and a pulley zip line. There are lots of benches, covered picnic tables and the new seawall is an excellent place to stroll, catch the sunset, or watch the aircraft landing at the airbase.

Bring Yen as there are many American style vendors and restaurants in the immediate area. As the park is fairly large and closed to vehicles, the best place to leave your car is in the Naval Kadena parking lot. Walk between the buildings moving towards the ocean and look for the opening in the fenced-in area. If parking is full there is another large lot available one block north.
