Ryan's Jungle Traditional Cache

RocklinGerbs: After over two years of fun, this cache needs to be archived. It has always been on public land, surrounded by future housing open space, but now there are orange construction fences surrounding it. The cache will soon be just behind someones backyard and there will be far fewer, if any, coyotees and hawks in the area. Time marches on. We hope to find a new spot soon. Ryan and the Rocklin Gerbs hope you have enjoyed the "local" adventure.

Geocache Description:

An easy cache in an open location, about 1/4 mile from a paved parking spot.

This cache was placed by young Ryan and contains small animals of all sorts. It started out with a frog, turtle etc. We placed it because it is fairly near our house and we wanted one close by for younger kids. It is in an area that will be full of thistles in the late Spring/Summer. Best done in the Winter to avoid thorns and possible snake critters. We did however see a coyote run right past the cache just before we placed it!

Roads to the North of the cache that you see on the map, are dirt 4WD roads. Some of them have locked gates on them.
UPDATE:
This cache lies in open fields in what will be a greenbelt area within a new housing development. Current roads dead-end nearby and the developers have recently posted No-Trespassing signs for these roads. Folks have been walking up here for years and I believe if you tread lightly, you'll be OK. To avoid these new off-limits areas, park at the end of West Oaks, walk down into the drainage (current greenbelt) and then on to the cache (again, on what will be a greenbelt area) Use your judgment. If you are uncomfortable with the signs, try another cache. Cheers.
