A beautiful walk in the Provo River Restoration Project
Wetlands.
The cache is located along a great wetlands walkway. Park at the
end of Old Highway 40 at the base of the Jordanelle Dam. Just South
of the parking area on the West side of the road is a boardwalk .
The walkway wanders about 1.5 miles through the wetlands. I have
seen many ducks, hawks and several Sand Hill Cranes. It's a super
place for a flat terrain walk or run. As you drove in, you passed
an alternative parking area at the Southern end of the walkway. You
might consider a longer walk to the cache from this lower parking
lot. The cache is about .5 miles from the upper parking lot. Stay
on the trail until you are about 85-90 feet directly across from
the cache. You can walk to it without getting wet. Try to minimize
your impact off the trail. 5/14/03 I have seen many snakes in the
area. Most are small harmless ones but I am no expert. Keep your
eyes open. Best wishes. Note on July 12, 2007. The trail to the
cache might be under some water. Please be forewarned for this.
7/7/09: My friend, pokernut, will be adopting this cache. If he has
not already found it, I want him to log it as a find whenever he
has a chance to find it. I know it's bad form to log your own
caches but in this case he is adopting it. Thanks. Scubadog
