CITO at our Adopted City of Hickory Park and Rec. dept parks
Park to be determined by City of Hickory Park and Rec. will be announced on the NC Foothills Website at www.ncfoothills-geocachers.com Sunday June 22nd, 11AM until the trash is cleaned up.
The idea is for cachers to help clean up parks (1.) because we can (2.) because positive PR is always a good thing and(3) City of Hickory and Catawba County Park and Rec. are PRO Caching, and allow us to place caches in their parks.
NC Foothills adopted all of the City of Hickory Parks (through the City of Hickory Park and Recreation Department) last year in an effort to help keep the parks clean and enjoyable, along with the PR factor. We have for the past two years only been cleaning up Geitner as part of our obligation. We have done so well that Park and Rec approached us for help and asked if we would adopt all the parks. We chose to do so for another two year's. We pick a day, they pick a park.
In order for all the events to go smoothly with lots of folks to help the Foothills event will Start at 11am on Sunday June 22, 2008. Hopefully this will allow some cachers to help out after church or at least make an effort to come out.
We are obligated to 6 more CITO's the various parks over the next 2 years. Look for these about every 3 or 4 months.
As more information becomes available I will add to the page. This may change venues to a different park if deemed necessary by the City of Hickory Park and Rec. Please log a "Will Attend" as soon as possible so that we can get a better head count.
We will have Food, Fun, Hard Work, 50/50 Raffle, and other prizes.
Mrs. Parrothead will be the local contact. We will not add any caches to the area but there are plenty around the general area.
The coordinate above are for Geitner, this may not be held at geitner park however. Look to the Foothills Websites for updates.
