This geocache is located near 12 mile island on the Ohio River. You will need a boat, kayak, or canoe to find this cache. Experienced paddlers and boaters only given barge and tugboat traffic. It is easiest to launch a boat or kayak from Captain's Quarters and travel up river. This was an hour paddle by kayak to the cache and roughly forty minutes back. Plan accordingly. The River depth was 26.9 ft when the cache was placed.
12 mile island is owned and maintained by Jefferson and Oldham County. This cache is a pelican container that will hopefully resist the elements. Bring a pen to the cache. The log is a write in the rain pad.
