Ok, if you don't have any fear of high places, this will make you 'King of the Mountain' for sure.
This has been one of my favorite towers since I was a kid swimming at the nearby beach. I always wanted to climb up to the top never realizing that someday I would and have a cache there to boot. Its a great view from the top, especially in the fall. The wind tends to make the tower sway a little and I'm not sure if the thought that it has been standing 74 years is comforting or just the opposite! There are two paths to get to the tower, moderate and express. After climbing for 10 minutes or so the trail splits (tree with rocks at the base). Going to the left is the express route and you will definitely feel the burn going this way (this is the route I usually take to come down). Going to the right wraps around the mountain and is somewhat easier, but still a workout. There are some side trails but usually they are blocked or there are some trail markers. When in doubt, just remember to always take the left trail and you will get to your destination.
Hint: 02/02/2016 - Replaced missing cache about one foot to the left of where it is shown. If the cache appears missing (which it frequently does), post a picture from the top to claim a find.
