I'm Smitten!! Traditional Geocache

I'm Smitten!!!!

Well, I haven’t been around much

and I hope you’ve missed me
as much I’ve missed you.

Ever since Mom married Roy,
 the icebox salesman,

and moved to Fairbanks,
I’ve been a little blue.

But I’m starting to realize this could be the beginning

of a whole new life for me -

out from under Mom’s loving but protective nose.

So I’m going to make a little hay,

sow a few wild oats and FINALLY go public

with this wild, crazy, mad crush
I’ve had smoldering in my heart

for all these long, cold, dreary months.

Now I can shout it from the rooftops:

Miss Goody Two Shoes,

I  LOVE YOU!!!

Ever since I first laid eyes on her lovely legs and read her clever prose,

I’ve been waiting for the right moment to profess my undying affection.

 But I’ve never done anything like this before, and I don’t know how. 

I’m afraid she’ll just laugh at me and keep on going out

with those rich, handsome, worldly, sophisticated types like EraSeek.

So I need to do something to entice her to at least give me a chance.

To at least cast a glance in my unworthy direction.

To at least throw me a crumb by finding this cache

full of beautiful offerings in her honor.

And maybe if she finds the contents worthy,

she will let me at least worship at her feet,

if only for one brief, shining moment.

PS: I heard that MGTS likes dogs

almost as much as she likes shoes.

So I’ve added a photo of my dog, Bootsy,

on a visit to Mom and Roy in Alaska
