The Deadly Sins are a series of caches to help you regain a part
of your lost soul. What’s that, you ask? You didn’t realize you
were missing a piece? Sorry to inform that you are, but help is
close at hand. Whether you admit it or not (and you can, if you
want, in the logbook or online log), I believe we have all
experienced at least one of these sins in the process of geocaching
(for some of us, perhaps more than one. Not that I know anything
about that).
Sloth (no, not the
animal)
Have you ever driven up to a cache’s posted parking coordinates,
and figured out that there’s closer parking (legal or not) that
turns a mile hike with nice views into a 500 foot ugly bushwhack?
You’re just trying to be efficient, right? I’ve already seen a lot
of views, so why bother? Yeah, keep telling yourself that,
lazy.
Now, the cache itself has nothing specifically to do with sloth,
but it not a simple park and ride either. I don’t think there’s any
better parking around, and you probably shouldn’t try to find any.
Just take a walk. It’ll be good for your soul (and blood
pressure).
About the cache:
Park at Guiffrida Park, you can follow the fairly new rerouted
blue trail. Follow the blue from the parking lot along the access
road until it veers left into the woods. The reroute follows parts
of the older yellow and red trails. Nothing particularly devious
about the hide, but you’ll have to be careful to not go tumbling
down at GZ.
Each of the Deadly Sins has a code on the inside front cover
of the logbook and on the inside cover of the cache container. You
must take note of the code to truly become
Virtuous and retrieve the part of your soul that is
lost.
