Geocache Description:

As implied in the name, this cache is likely at one of the highest elevations in Vermont at 3800 feet above sea level. Can be easy or hard depending on how you choose to get there.

The cache is located near a spot with a spectacular view. The hike to the cache is around 3 miles and is a steep climb. You will have to research the trail information. Or, if you are not into physical challenges, you can drive to within 0.2 miles of the cache, after you pay money to the gatekeeper. This method is only available in season, during the day. Go to the Equinox Mountain Site for schedule and rates. If you hike, make sure you are in good shape. If you drive, make sure your car is in good shape!

The new visitor's center is OPEN!

After your find, make sure you place the container COMPLETELY back in its hiding spot and use available stones to conceal the cache from prying eyes! Enjoy the view and the mountaintop! You might also take some time to research the history of the area and enjoy the attractions in town.

There is a good deal of wildlife on the summit, including Bear, Catamount, Porcupine and other critters. Some live right next to the cache. Use courtesy when visiting their home.

For best results, pick a nice sunny day to visit this cache. The weather can get very nasty at times and the view will likely be wiped out.
