Just a stroll around the neighborhood, not far off the sidewalk. Medium sized container (large enough to take a number of modest sized trackables) with a blue lid, duct-taped olive tape. Shouldn't be too challenging to locate (really easy if you check the hint) - be sure to cover up after access.
Note: In case there are concerns. While this is an urban setting and right on the edge of our property feel free to trample the ivy (we don't particularly like it), the nearby neighbors are aware of cache and likelihood of occasional unusual visiting activities. July 2015: Time to replace the container , original logbook a bit soggy (now dried out), two more logbook extensions added and all stapled together.
