The Blair Witch Trail -
North

The Blair Witch trail in Manzanita Park near Prunedale is somewhat
similar to the legendary Fort Ord trail of the same name. The Fort
Ord trail, also known as trail 59, is a twisty length of single
track that winds through the chaparral.
The Manzanita Park version of the Blair Witch trail is more of a
gentle downhill experience with some rolling uphill sections when
approached from the trail head identified below. There are at least
three trail heads available to reach the cache location. You will
find the best trail head for mountain biking at;
N 36° 47.731 W 121° 40.501
There are several caches located in the park and at least one
more cache on the trail.

December 2, 2009 by WERDAVE (5253 found) The cache is alive and well. We did appreciate the "trailhead" info -- not sure we would have spotted it otherwise. Didn't at first look like it was really a "bike" trail, but all worked out fine. When we first arrived, we did wonder at the timing of the tree fall, but had to give it a look. A little bushwhacking and scrambling and we made it to what the GPSrs thought was gz, and there was the cache nicely tucked away. Nice diversion for this one. Thanks for the mini-adventure and the cache. TNLNSL.

November 22, 2009 by stbk (2308 found) Found a big tree blocking my way, so I consulted the logs. Given the recent DNFs I decided to press on.

October 25, 2009 by fgitano (159 found) I know that I was right on top of this cache however, there is a giant oak tree in the way. It may have fallen during those big storms that we had in this area. I tried climbing around the tree but still could not find it.

October 15, 2009 by OLdweeb (6738 found) A huge downed tree blocked access from the trail. I managed to clamber over and get to where my Garmin Oregon 400t "alleged" was GZ. By this time I was accumulating DNFs in rapid succession. So in order to avoid yet another one I ignored all the poison oak (yes I'm immune) and walked on/thru it repeatedly while searching. I got a gash on my elbow, scratches on my legs, a torn shirt & shorts and still didn't find the cache. But I had a great time.
