Another cache on the Ray Miller Trail
While hiking the Ray Miller Trail on this beautiful Sunday morning, we came across this overlook with a spectacular view. How is it possible that there isn't a cache here I wondered? Well, I just happened to have one on me. So now everyone has a reason to stop and enjoy this part of the California coastline.

I soon found out why there wasn't cache at this location. Chaosmanor had a disabled cache up here that I was unaware of. He graciously archived his cache so that mine could stay where it was.

The hike isn't that hard, but it is a steady haul uphill for almost a mile and a half, hence the 2.5 rating on Terrain. If you park in La Jolla Canyon - at a mere $4, it's a bargain! - we have another cache on the way up to this one. There are several more caches on the ridge above you, on the Overlook Trail.

Interesting container. Turned out to be a bit further from GZ than I expected. Just happened to spot it while taking a little "enjoying the view" break. TFTC.

I had missed this one on my first journey along this portion of the BBT, so I had to go back for the Spinal Tab challenge. This time I came up from Big Sycamore for a scenic change. It took me a significant amount of time but then luckily my eyes fell on the cache as I was about to move on to a different area. As others have found, the coordinates were slightly off on my Oregon 400t.

First "It starts...!" and then the views begin. No photos today, I forgot my camera and just as well, I had enough weight on my back, the views were mostly hazy, and almost no flowers were in bloom. TOHiker was still with me at this point, and mentioned that the cache is not nearly so bright and shiny as it was initially. Interesting container -- I've not seen one like this and don't know what it is. Though it has a light patina of rust, it seems to be protecting its contents well. I saved Pacific Rim for my return trip and hopped on up to perch on A nice perch for a Big Eagle.
