Geocache Description:

The cache is a small tubular style container with log book and pencil. Use the information boards to work out the clues.

This well known Australian was born in Jamestown in 1908 and lived on the family farm a few kilometres out of Jamestown. He was educated at the small rural school “Loudon Brae”.

Drought, his father’s poor health and the 1914-1918 war resulted in the family moving to Adelaide when he was 12.

As a young man he travelled many parts of Australia spending time in the outback working as a camel boy, gathering knowledge at every opportunity. It was at this time he learnt the art of boot making.

Reginald died November 4th 2003 at the age of 95.

He was a unique Australian who played a significant role in the development of our outback heritage.

Who was he?

Take a break on your way north and stop at this newly created parking bay in Robinson Park, Jamestown. Take a stroll, read the information boards, find the cache. The geo kids (young and old) can stretch their legs in the park opposite. Toilets available nearby.
