Geocache Description:

It is time once again to help do our part of cleaning up the environment to help maintain the beauty of the Black Hills. This CITO event is open to all geocachers of all ages. So come help pitch in to keep our giant geocaching playground clean for future generations. Lend a Hand-Care for the Land!

When: Sunday, April 27th- 9am-noon
Where: Sheridan Lake south boat landing/ Calumet trailhead

To get to the Sheridan Lake south boat ramp landing you must gain access through the south campground area via hwy 385. Once past the speed bumps and entrance fee cubicle, turn right. There is no park entrance fee until Memorial Day weekend.

It has been 5 years since we last hiked these trails and cleaned the area. Once at the rendezvous point we will distribute supplies and divide into 3 teams. Flume Trail, Dakota Point, and Lower Spring Creek Trailhead. We will meet in the middle at the Sheridan Lake dam. This should take 2-3 hours. After the CITO we will be meeting in Hill City for a lunch gathering at the Slate Creek Grille. So when you log your "will attend", please let me know if you will be going to lunch afterwards and how many in your party. This way I can make arrangements with the establishment. This is the time of the year in which the weather can change drastically. If inclement weather should arise this CITO will moved to another date.

What to Bring: Wear hiking boots and dress appropriately for the changing weather. Bring a water bottle to keep hydrated.
