Geocache Description:

This is a micro cache in a small medicine bottle. Bring you own pen. It is located 1.75 miles in from the trailhead on a climbers trail towards the top of Cedar Rock, near Brevard, NC. You can enter from the Fish Hatchery which is longer, or 6.3 Miles up Cathy's Creek Rd. from Hyway 64 is the shorter hike.

There is a lot of great views on up and another Cache, “Happy Halloween in Transylvania”. You have the option to log the cache and return at this point as the cache is located before the 30 ft scramble, which is a class 4, but is harder coming back down. Years back, there was a permanent large rope left here just for the purpose of making a safe ascent and descent. Someone in their all knowing wisdom chose to remove it. It was later replaced and then someone removed the replacement. I advise a rope, and a person that is comfortable in scrambling up and tying off to a good tree. This should not be attempted in rain or ice.
Another cache brought to you by a member of the USCGA
