The Lancaster County Conservancy is the first non-profit land trust in the world to actively participate in geocaching. As such, we have obtained special permission from the Groundspeak home office in order to place this special event cache. Check out our website.

For both beginner and advanced geocachers, this event will raise funds to preserve important natural areas in Lancaster County.
There is a registration fee of $40 per team (1 vehicle per team).

  • Teams will search for caches hidden on 10 Conservancy nature preserves located throughout Lancaster County.
  • Cache coordinates and driving directions to preserves to be provided at event.
  • Not a race.
  • Beginners will search for 2-3 caches on one preserve.
  • Advanced geocachers will search for caches on two different preserves.
  • Place stickers found in cache boxes on your coordinates card as you find the caches.
  • Event T-shirts and prize raffle tickets to all participants, and free refreshments for all. Raffle prizes will include two new high quality GPS receivers, kayak trips, golf, and lots of restaurant, service, and entertainment gift certificates.
  • Advance registration required by September 15.
  • Free GPS geocaching training for registrants on August 5th or 21st and September 18th.
  • Since 1970, the Conservancy has acquired and maintains over 16 miles of trails on over 1,600 acres of natural open space and over 800 acres of easements, all open to the public free of charge. LCC was the first land trust to place geocaches on its preserves. As a community-based non-profit organization, this event will provide critical support to expand and maintain this public open space.
