You are looking for
a a double-wide ammo can, more or less artfully camoed and
hidden.
The field, and the
cache are on land we lease, so this is not
on park
property. You can access the cache several ways, please
read carefully and
pick the tactic that fits your needs and desires...
1. You can drive to
within less than 100'of the GZ and park. However, you can
only
do so when we
have the gate open, which is generally every Sat. and
Sun. plus most
holidays from 8am till 12pm.
We don't use the
field right after or during rains. If you choose this route,
pull over far
enough to the right to not block our road. Park in the obvious
spot.
2. You can park, or
be dropped off, just down the public road at the turn-around
and "dash and
cache". The trail goes past the big gate on the right, then
across the road and
back to the cache.
This you can do
24/7, however the road is copiously posted "no
parking". It is a
quiet road and the
odds are very good you will get away with this.
But your mileage
may vary, it's your decision...
3. You can also
park in the legal, proper...and 1/2 mile distant... official
pay-parking lot or in
the free and legal
street parking. There is a small museum and various
informative kiosks
at this place, and
you could add them to your experience.
If you choose this
route, you can then bike or hike on the nice paved
trail until you are
just about abeam of the GZ, where you will need to leave the
trail and hike up
to your goal- which will be very near. There are
currently two large
convenient gaps in the barrier between the park
path and our
private field. It is about a mile round trip, and a nice
one.
4. You can
also fly in, but talk to me first...
Geo-zone straight ahead...
Be careful where you park...
