Geocache Description:

Let's meet at:

Savannah Cafe and Bakery

14020 Galveston Road Suite 180
Webster TX 77598

6:28 PM - 6:58 PM

(3:14 X 2)

Down here in SOUTH Houston we're going to celebrate Pi Day like good ole Southern Belles & Gents at the Savannah Bakery.

On top of exchanging conversation on the Geocaching Trail, I'm going to challenge who's willing to stand up and earn a brand new, unactivated trackable, to do the following at 6:43 PM, (or halfway, the diameter, through our slice o' clock pie):

Answer the following 3 Trivia Questions correctly:

  • In 1897 a state House of Representatives unanimously passed a bill setting pi equal to 16/(sqrt 3), which approximately equals 9.2376. In which state of the United States did this occur?
  •  There was a time (a while ago) when people were trying very hard to 'square the circle.' It was said at the time that it was even an illness and a name was given to it. What is it?
  • The world pi-recitation record is held by Chao Lu of China. He was able to recite pi from memory to approximately how many decimal places?

Stand, 1, alone at the corner of the room, (why can't this room be circular?!) & recite these 4 stanzas, loudly across the room:

Pi Day Serenade
sung to the tune of the "Alphabet Song"

Here we come a happy crew
Singing Pi Day songs to you!

3 point 1 4 1 5 9
Though the songs are asinine

When we're done we get to eat
Pi Day food that's round and sweet!

Now I know my challenge is done,

give me my geocaching fun!

In case there are, shock, multiple people willing to rise to my challenge, the audience will choose who made the biggest fool of themself and award them appropriately!

PS: I do love all geocachers, so no tears, thank you and/all who volunteers all in good fun!

Now, let's have some pie!!
